Many people who don’t wan’t a lap dancing bar in Crouch End have been saying to us that there is no point in protesting – the legislation is so weak that the council are bound to side with the applicants.
We have an uphill task – but it is not impossible. There have been successful campaigns in both Kensington and Hove recently, and in Durham the residents won on appeal.
We can do this – don’t let the Music Palace off the hook by giving up – they want you to think that we can’t win. Over 800 people (and counting) don’t want a lap dancing bar in Crouch End – the shops don’t want a lap dancing bar in Crouch End – now it’s up to Haringey Council.
They said that Barack Obama couldn’t win
They said that Rocky would never beat Apollo Creed
They said that Liverpool would never win the Champions League final in 2005 when they were three goals down
They said that the Zulus could never beat the British
They said the Titanic couldn’t sink
They were wrong – so are the owners of the Music Palace if they think we will roll over and play dead.
